"Annual Tree Lighting in the Park" The annual Christmas Tree lighting will be held in Stumptown Park on Saturday, December 7th @ 6:30pm. Come and help us light the tree and enjoy hot coco and cookies as we all gather together for the arrival of Santa on one of our Matthews Fire Trucks. Come join the Mayor and Commissioners as we start the 2002 holiday season in Matthews. | ||

The show begines at 8:00pm.... bring your chairs and enjoy some family fun under the stars in Matthews. This will be the last movie of the 2002 series. We will start again in the spring of 2003. | ||

HELP Center Zoning The zoning change requested for the Matthews HELP Center relocation will be decided on Monday, September 9th, 2002. The Planning and Zoning Board has voted to recommend appproval of this request and it is now up the the Matthews Board of Commissioners to decide on this request. UPDATE: the Zoning was approved and the HELP Center is on the road to building their new building on their site on Ames St. CONGRATULATIONS to all. | ||
